Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1   USA – Vienna
Monday, Septermber 29
Depart from U.S. for our overnight flight to Vienna. Dinner and breakfast will be served on board.

  
Day 2   Arrive Vienna / Sarajevo / Medjugorje
Tuesday, September 30
We will arrive in Vienna the morning after we depart the US. Padre Carlos Gomez will celebrate Holy Mass in the chapel at the Vienna airport… the same chapel where Pope John Paul II celebrated Mass. After that we will have a couple hours to relax, grab something to eat or shop in the airport before we depart for Sarajevo. From Sarajevo, we will depart by motorcoach to Medjugorje where Mirjana will be waiting to greet our bus and welcome us to Medjugorje. Our homes will have dinner waiting for us when we arrive.

 
Day 3 – 5 Medjugorje
Wednesday thru Friday, October 1 - October 3
Breakfast and midday meal served by our host homes each day. Besides attending the English-speaking Mass each day at St. James, during these 3 days, we will climb Apparition Hill, visit Fr. Jozo Zovko in Siroki Brieg (if available), be present for the apparition of Our Lady to Mirjana on the 2nd and enjoy a private talk with Mirjana.
 

Day 6  Medjugorje / Dubrovnik / Bari, Italy / San Giovanni 
Saturday, Ocotber 4
We will depart by motorcoach for Dubrovnik immediately after breakfast. From Dubrovnik we will take the ferry across the Adriatic Sea to Bari, Italy… then continue on by motorcoach to San Giovanni, arriving at our hotel around midnight.

Day 7  San Giovanni / Cave of St. Michael the Archangel, Lanciano
Sunday, October 5
House of Loreto / Assisi     
Sunday morning we wake up in San Giovanni, home of Padre Pio. We will attend Holy Mass, visit San Giovanni Rotondo and the Cave of St. Michael the Archangel. Then we will continue on by motorcoach to Lanciano (site of the Eucharistic miracle), the House of Loreto (tradition holds that
this is the house where Mary was born) and Assisi where our hotel will have dinner waiting.

Day 8 - 9  Assisi
Monday and Tuesday, Ocotober 6 and October 7 
Breakfast provided by the hotel both days. Dinner provided by the hotel Monday evening. Padre Carlos will celebrate Holy Mass at the Basilica of St. Francis and San Damiano church. We will have almost 2 full days to explore the medieval city of Assisi in the rolling hills of Umbria. Tuesday afternoon we will depart by motorcoach to Rome.

Day 10 - 14 Rome
Wednesday thru Sunday, Ocotober 8 thru Ocotober 12
On Wednesday, we will have guided tours of the excavations below St. Peter’s, the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel… all scheduled around attending a general audience with Pope Benedict XVI. During our five days in Rome, Padre Carlos will celebrate Holy Mass at the four major Basilicas and in the Catacombs. Thursday thru Sunday, after daily Mass, you are free to explore Rome… our hotels are very close to the main ‘Termini’ train station in Rome… so you may choose to walk or take a double decker bus or make use of the subway system to get around Rome… the double decker buses give you a great view of Rome but the subway is much faster. A subway pass for all 5 days is approximately $24 U.S.  Breakfast at the hotel is the only meal provided each day while in Rome. On Sunday evening, we will depart for Vienna where we will stay overnight at a hotel near the airport.

Day 15  Vienna / US
Monday, October 13
Depart for the U.S.
